Science Podcasts

July 25, 2006

I supposed the following news items just reflect the next step in the logical progression of the e-journal: Science, Nature, and The New England Journal of Medicine are now all offering podcasts and audio complements to their online content:

Nature: “Each week Nature publishes a free audio show, presented and produced by Chris Smith and Anna Lacey at the University of Cambridge, UK, and sponsored by Bio-Rad. Each show features highlights from news and articles published in Nature, including interviews with the people behind the science with in-depth commentary and analysis from journalists covering the research.” Nature Podcasts

Science: “On a pilot basis, Science will be offering periodic podcasts built around interesting stories in the journal and on its sister sites.” Science Podcasts

New England Journal of Medicine: “The New England Journal of Medicine now offers two podcasts each week, as well as weekly RSS feeds….NEJM Weekly Audio Summary…gives you the most crucial content from the articles in each week’s issue of the Journal….NEJM Interviews [provide] a brief (6-8 minute) interview with the author.”  [Note: Links embedded in the NEJM homepage.]
